The Independent Broadcasting Association of Nigeria (IBAN) Chairman, Alhaji (Dr.) Ahmed Tijjani Ramalan, has congratulated the National Broadcasting Commission (NBC) as it marks 33 years of regulating Nigeria’s broadcast industry.

In a goodwill message via an issued statement yesterday, Ramalan praised NBC for providing the framework that has allowed radio and television to flourish, transforming the nation’s media landscape and influencing multiple industries.
He noted that broadcasting has been pivotal in promoting Nollywood, Nigerian music, fashion, and cultural heritage, projecting the nation’s creative industries across the globe. “From Nollywood films to Afrobeats, our airwaves have showcased Nigeria’s talent and culture to the world”, Ramalan stated.
Broadcasting, he added, has also powered the advertising sector, driven the growth of production companies, and created thousands of jobs, boosting the economy while giving voice to Nigeria’s cultural diversity.

“As NBC turns 33, we celebrate its impact on entertainment, fashion, advertising, and cultural promotion. The commission’s role in shaping standards has been critical to the industry’s growth”, the IBAN Chairman stated.
He wished NBC “continued success in serving the media industry and the Nigerian public”.
